The island is more or less round in shape with a sort of "tail" on the sides. southwest which is approximately 70 km long. The size of the island ranks it 108th out of list of islands by size in the world which makes Lombok Island one of the one of the favorite tourist destinations, both for foreign tourists and Indonesian tourists.

Tourism

Lombok is in many ways similar to Bali, and in the decades since 1990s began to be recognized by foreign tourists. But there are still some other gilis that are not less beautiful, namely Gili Nanggu, Gili Sundak, Gili Tangkong. Lombok also has various cultural attractions such as Rambitan, Sade Village, Sukarara, Bayan Beleq Mosque, Suranadi Temple, Lingsar Temple, Narmada Park, Mayura Park, Bilok Petung Ancient Mosque, and Banyumulek Village.

Culinary Heritage  

Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara must be familiar with ayam taliwang culinary, because almost every corner of the city there are places to eat that serve this menu. In addition to taliwang chicken, Lombok also has other culinary specialties that are no less delicious than satay bulayak, namely  beef satay, beef intestine, and chicken. Bulayak in the local language is the same as lontong, except that it is packed with palm leaves and cone-shaped. One of Lombok's culinary specialties originating from puyung village is puyung racing rice, the hallmark of puyung racing rice is served on a woven rattan plate covered with rice paper cut to resemble a flower. In addition to its distinctive presentation, the spicy taste does not need to be added with chili sauce, the taste of the puyung racing rice side dish is already spicy.

Transportation
