Lampung is the closest region to Java among other regions in Sumatra. Lampung is a strategic province because it is the gateway to two important economic regions, namely between Singapore, Johor and Riau, as well as the national market centers of Jakarta and West Java.
Tourism
Lampung's long coastline has a lot of potential for beach tourism. Tanjung Setia Beach, Teluk Kiluan and Pahawang are examples of beaches that are already known by foreign tourists. If development from the government continues to be intensified and the community is friendly, Lampung will become a potential strong rival to the island of the gods.
Apart from beaches, Lampung has Way Kambas National Park in East Lampung. Lampung also has Lake Ranau which is increasingly visited by tourists because of its beautiful nature. Still about the natural tourism story, Lampung has the Sekura Festival which is held in the week after Eid al-Fitr in West Lampung, Krakatau Festival in Bandar Lampung, Stabas Bay Festival in West Pesisir, Semaka Bay Festival in Tanggamus, and Way Kambas Festival in East Lampung. Also cultural tourism can be visited in several Old Villages in Sukau, Liwa, Kembahang, Batu Brak, Kenali, Ranau and Krui in West Lampung.
Culinary Heritage
Lampung Province is well known for its coffee and banana chips, which are often used as souvenirs by tourists. Lampung's culinary heritage has a very delicious taste.
It is not difficult to find typical Lampung cuisine. The local government and entrepreneurs are also passionate about introducing traditional cuisine to the public. Special places are created so that local and foreign tourists can easily enjoy Lampung culinary. Here are Lampung's specialties and their uniqueness, namely: Seruit, Gulai Taboh, Pindang, Tuhuk Fish Satay, Umbu, Engkak, Gabing, Sekubal, and Sambal Asam Kembang.
Transportation
To access Lampung Province, from the direction of Aceh can use land routes through the Sumatra Central Cross Road, Sumatra East Cross Road, Sumatra West Cross Road and Sumatra East Coast Cross Road. Since March 9, 2019, Bakauheni-Bandar Lampung Toll Road-Terbanggi Besar are fully operational, from Bakauheni (South Lampung) to Terbanggi Besar (Central Lampung) is 140 kilometers long. The road is accessed by buses at three main terminals, namely Rajabasa Terminal, Sukaraja Terminal, and Metro City Terminal.
Lampung has one main airport, Raden Inten II Airport, which connects Lampung to cities in Indonesia such as Bandung, Batam, Jakarta and Palembang. Lampung is also equipped with two pioneer airports namely Mohammad Taufik Kiemas Airport and Gatot Subroto Airport. The province is also equipped with train transportation with five main stations, and a port that has hundreds of Ferry crossing schedules.
